"This is my 1st blog as the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Special Teams Coordinator and it feels great to be at this level, state and an honor to coach besides a Head Coach like Coach Poteete. So, we start Spring Ball in Miami, OK on Monday 4/1/13 and will practice every other day. I can't remember the last time I was this excited for the 1st practice and this is just some weeks with a Spring Ball Game to finish it off but I can already tell it's going to be some very talented young men that are all fighting for a position whether it may be on offensive, defensive or of course my special teams which we will be one of the best in the country let alone conference. Head Coach Poteete understands the seriousness of special teams and I just can't wait to show as a coordinator what I'm going to bring to the table and of course implement my style, expectations and coaching style to the Norsemen of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. "I'm pleased to announce that I've been selected to coach in the NAIA vs. NCAA Division II Senior Bowl on December 15th in Myrtle Beach, SC. It's a great honor and pleasure to have been selected. One of the best parts is I get to coach with my current Head Coach Kent Anderson, Defensive Coordinator Elzie Anderson and Team USA/Edward Waters College Coach Dan Miles" - Coach Winks 11/1/12
"Last week we lost 65-66 to Iowa Wesleyan College. We came back in the 4th quater down by 21 points and it all started by IWC kicking off to my Kick Return team and of course we ran it back all the way to the house for our 5th KR TD of the year (School Record). We scored with 3 seconds to play in the game and we went for the WIN by going for a 2 point conversion but unfortunately was unsuccessful. Our Offense played Amazing and as a Defense we should have stepped it up but the season goes on.....So, here we are at Waldorf College 4-5 on the year, we already have the most wins in school history but we as a staff and team are not happy with that. We have 2 games to play on the year and both are very winnable games so our goal is to finish the year 6-5 which would be an amazing accomplishment for us and Waldorf College. We play our last home game this weekend which is also senior day vs. Siena Heights University at 1PM. The following week, our last game of the year will be vs. Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. So 10 more days to go on the year and I guarantee we will be playing every play like its our last and giving 100% every play!!!!" - Coach Winks 11/1/12
"Where do I start this months blogs...A lot of ups and downs on the field. We are 3-2 on the season and face 2 very good teams coming up. Both are rated in the NAIA Top #25 in the country. The past 2 games were just complete opposites. We had our first road game and won 76-35 over Trinity Bible College in North Dakota. My Special Teams set a MSFA Conference All-Time Record by returning 3 Kick Returns for TD's. My KR (J. Loydd) was named NAIA National Special Teams player of the week by returning 2 Kick Returns for TD's in the first half alone. My Kicker (B. Stack) kicked 11 XP's and made 10 of them. That was a very good game for the Waldorf College community and its Alumni. But...........Last week was Homecoming and the stadium was sold out and the crowd couldn't of been louder and more supportive. We honored our 1962 Waldorf College Football Team at Halftime. Unfortunately, on the field we lost 52-6 to the #14 ranked team in the country the University of St. Francis (IL). It was very disappointing but there is nothing you can do but get ready for the next weeks game which is what we are doing as a staff!! I will start writing weekly blogs now after each game....GO WARRIORS!!!" - Coach Winks 10/2/12
"Great start to this months blog, we here at Waldorf College are off to a 2-0 start for the first time in 50+ years...We've outscored oppentents 90-36. One of my Defensive Backs was named MSFA Midwest Defensive Player of the Week (Tevin Padgett) and my Kicker (Brennen Stack) is 2-2 at FG's making a 41 and 33 yard FG's. We play the undefeated #7 in the NAIA Country William Penn (IA) Saturday Night at 6:30PM in our house....GO WARRIORS!!" - Coach Winks

Coach Freddie Weinke has agreed to terms with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College located in Miami, OK. Coach Weinke will be the Special Teams Coordinator and a position coach for the Golden Norsemen in 2013. Coach Weinke would like to thank Head Coach K. Anderson, the players (especially the Defensive Backs and K/P Returners) and the entire athletic department at Waldorf College but this was an opportunity he couldn't pass up for him and his family. NEO A&M is a NJCAA Division 1 Football Program that plays in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) that played in the Citizen Bank Bowl Game in 2012. Coach Weinke said, "I want to personally thank Coach Poteete of NEO for this great opportunity to further my career and move on to a college football program that has produced so many current and past NFL players".
